Well it’s finally here, the new year we’ve all been eagerly anticipating. However as we step into January whilst we can see a flickering light of hope, we find ourselves very much in the same vulnerable position, asking each other to stay safe and look after one another.
With this in mind, please note that Richard Kendall Estate Agent will continue to provide valuations of your home and carry out personal viewings of all properties for as long as we are allowed, adhering to our strict COVID procedures to ensure your safety, and for our own staff too.
What’s in store for 2021?
Here at Richard Kendall we are always looking forward. Proactive and progressive whilst maintaining our traditions of providing good old customer service with expert knowledge, care and attention to the sale or rent of your home. In the month of December our figures have given us continued confidence in our local property market. We arranged over 45% more valuations than the previous 5 years of December 2020 and arranged over 20% more viewings. We exchanged on nearly 40% more houses in December 2020 compared the same month the year before, and agreed sales on a massive 75% more properties than the same period last year. Given the activity since we rung in the new year, we see no reason why this won’t continue throughout 2021.
The main driving factor here is the stamp duty holiday which remains in place in the UK until the end of March. The likelihood of this date being extended is relatively low (but who knows what will happen) so we’ve added some advice below on ‘how to buy a house before the stamp duty holiday ends’ as a general guide if this is your main motivation.
